Shared Custom Advertising Programs (SCAP™) involves a group of advertisers coming together to share a medium (direct mail or direct to door) delivered to a target geography of common interest to the group.

It is “custom” because unlike other shared advertising programs where advertisers have to follow set formats, schedules, territories and delivery mechanisms of the respective publishers, the SCAP is totally flexible and implemented according to the needs of the advertisers themselves. SCAP also give control to the advertisers on who else will be on that advertising piece. It also allows rotation of distribution method between direct mail and direct to door if that is preferred.

Shopping Centers, Strip Malls or Downtown Stores desiring a saturation coverage in the
    neighborhood by radius, zip code or other geographic criteria

What are the various formats and delivery mechanism?

Depending on whether the preference is to do the direct mail route (USPS delivery) or the direct to door way (in which case private distribution is used), we can use postcards or door hangers (the more common formats) or any other formats such as flyers and booklets.

What are the pre-requisites for the program?

Like-minded advertisers willing to cooperate on a shared advertising program

Intent to make it an ongoing advertising program, but commitment to do it at least 4
   times in a year. Advertising works better with repetition and setting this up requires a lot
   of effort on our side on the front end.

What will MARKOTS do to get this started for us?

We will handle the project start to finish for you including concept, format selection, design, production, mapping, scheduling and distribution. We will also do all the coordination work with individual advertisers to assure timely execution of the project. If you need us to put out some literature to explain the program to potential advertisers that you have identified (to get their buy-in), we will do that as well.

Where do we start?

In projects of this nature, it is usual to have one “lead person” from the advertisers’ side take the initiative. It could be one of the proactive business owners or a motivated Property Manager willing to share in the cost to help build foot traffic to the shopping center. Even though all the work will be done by MARKOTS, such ownership at the local level is necessary to help the project succeed.
